Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto, band members did session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 following the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned The band held auditions to choose a new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The group has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The band's most popular video is "Africa" which has more than one billion views. The video takes place in a library, and shows the band performing in front of a stack of books about Africa.
